TULSI (Ocimum sanctum):
This holy herb is pungent and bitter in taste. It is light, dry, sharp in properties, and hot in potency. Pacifies Vata and Kapha doshas but aggravates pitta dosha. It is one of the components of Aadees Ayush Kwath. Tulsi expels excess sputum production in the lungs. so, it does wonder in cold, cough, asthma, and chronic respiratory disorders.
As it pacifies Vata dosha, so it is equally beneficial in dry cough .due to the sharp property it improves taste. Its hot nature increases digestive fire and hence, it relieves lack of appetite.
Tulsi is a detoxifying herb. This sacred herb promotes “sattvic ”nature and thus acts as a magical stress reliever. It is a known antipyretic herb, especially for malarial and viral fever. this ‘queen of herbs ‘ is also a general immune-booster.
DALCHINI( Cinnamonun zaylanioun)
Used in various ailments like flu, indigestion, edema, and cough, etc. As per Ayurveda, it tastes pungent and sweet. It is hot in nature. It is light, rough, and penetrating in properties. Pacifies Vata and Kapha doshas but aggravates Pitta dosha. Pitta-natured people can consume cinnamon, too, but in relatively smaller quantities.
Enhances the bioavailability of other ingredients consumed along with it. It is a warming spice that revives up the digestion and also improves absorption and its penetrating property relieves tastelessness. As it pacifies Kapha dosha, so it does miracles in allergic rhinitis, running nose, cough with sputum. It is one of the components of Aadees Ayush Kwath.
SHUNTHI (Ginger) :
Ginger is known as ‘vishawabhaishaj’, in other words, a universal remedy. It Tastes pungent and is hot in potency. it is light, smooth, dry, and sharp in properties. Pacifies Vata and Kapha doshas. As it enkindles the digestive fire, so, it is very much beneficial in nausea, indigestion, vomiting, belching, abdominal pain, gas, colic, and motion sickness. It increases the absorption of nutrients from the intestine and has the ability to stop hiccups . Being hot in nature, reduces the symptoms of colds and flu. Beneficial in viral and chronic fevers and managing both dry and productive cough. Gives relief from breathing difficulties and is one of the components of Aadees Ayush Kwath.
KRISHNA MARI
CH ( Piper nigrum):
Kali Marich is Pungent in taste and hot (not very hot) in potency. It is used to balance Vata and Kapha doshas in the body and enhances salivation and so, improves the taste. Treats anorexia and indigestion and decreases sputum production and is beneficial in asthma, cough, cold, flu, and other chronic respiratory disorders. beneficial in worm infestation and has good results in recurrent fever and prevents excess fat deposition thereby reducing the cholesterol and aids weight loss. It is one of the components of Aadees Ayush Kwath.
Contraindications of Ayush Kwath :
